Communications & Marketing
The Office of Communications and Marketing elevates the University as a leading institution of higher education by promoting news of its emerging undergraduate and graduate programs, transformative research, cultural preservation, economic development and community partnerships. The office coordinates messages to news media and internal audiences, as well as, supports communications and marketing efforts directed to prospective students, alumni, donors, and other University audiences.
As the University’s in-house creative and public relations agency, Communications and Marketing offers strategic support and collaborative services for faculty and staff – research and writing; print, online and multimedia design; event promotion; crisis communication; and media relations counsel. Our seasoned team of internal consultants includes writers, editors, graphic designers, photographers, a videographer, a social media strategist, and a Web content strategist. We are committed to responsiveness, quality, creativity, unified brand augmentation and message consistency in all University communications.
Dr. Jennifer Stephens,
Dr. Jennifer Stephens is the associate vice president for Communications and Marketing, the first person to hold this position.
Overseeing the University’s Office of Communications and Marketing, Stephens guides strategies and programs for institutional branding and marketing, web and digital communications, internal and crisis communications, trademark licensing, development and alumni communications, advertising, social media, and news media. Stephens also serves as the University’s chief communications officer. She is a member of the University Council and reports to the vice president for University Advancement, John Blohm.
