Position Overview

The Associate Director of Development, Marketing works collaboratively as an important Development team member in the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Advancement Division to advance the mission of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Through dynamic and inspiring graphic design, this position develops strategic marketing communications (print, web, and multimedia) that effectively convey the Office of Development's message visually and contextually. Responsibilities involve creating and presenting original concepts and designs for print and online projects, including web, email, and social media assets, as well as publications, reports (both print and PDF), and other deliverables. The graphic designer must exhibit a strong design and typography sensibility and understand the importance of brand assets: logo, type, engaging photography, compelling storytelling, infographics, etc.

The graphic designer must be highly creative, independent, innovative, and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate with members of development and advancement partners. This role contributes to the Office of Development’s supportive culture and emphasizes UL Lafayette’s values of collaboration, collegiality, honesty, integrity, respect, and transparency.

Duties & Responsibilities

Graphic Design (70%)

  • Concept and design various print materials to encourage, cultivate, and celebrate giving. These materials include event collateral, impact reports, proposals, direct mail, and other marketing campaign materials.
  • Design assets for social media, websites, emails, animation/video, and other digital platforms to support university-wide and development marketing campaigns and stewardship projects.  
  • Create and format digital presentations, templates, reports, and other marketing materials.

Photography/Videography (15%)

  • Retouch, resize, and manipulate photos digitally as needed.
  • Assist in directing original photography and videography.

Other Duties (15%)

  • Conduct research and benchmarking as needed for projects.
  • Assist in developing and optimizing workflows to enhance consistency and efficiency across the organization. Prepare files for press and work with vendors to assure consistency and quality. All materials must be consistent with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette brand standards and must be produced within budget.

Required Qualifications

  • A robust portfolio of varied design work.
  • High level of computer and software proficiency, with experience in the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional graphic design experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience in nonprofit/philanthropy marketing
